Even without spoilers I don't think you are winning anything by not letting people unsubscribe. I'd argue you are incentivizing them to go troll the forum thread

Latest blog post doesn't spoil the winner, but still that it was a photo finish. Not perfect but a significant improvement though I would still like an option to unsubscribe from it
