Using chessbase during live games

Hey everyone,

while the @IMAndrasToth controversy is blowing over, I'm still left wondering something. How often is he still using chessbase during live games? I tried to ask him this question personally, but was left more confused than anything after he didn't answer and closed the thread.

Here is the original video that started it all in case you haven't seen it.

With a well known and respected International Master/coach such as Mr. Toth using chessbase during live games, it's encouraging me to start doing the same, because it's still very unclear to me as to whether these sorts of actions are allowed or not. I would like it if lichess makes it clear whether these actions are okay or not, and if they're not then why is Mr. Toth not banned yet.

I would like to hear others' thoughts on this as well, as it will surely make for an interesting discussion.
Interesting. I saw him do this and figured it was alright to do myself too, but I didn't know of chessbase would be worth my investment. So I simply messaged him if it was good and if it was good for live games or not. And what do I get for asking him? He blocks me! Very suspicious.

I'm quite curious
Hm. Looks pretty convincing that he was cheating, unless looking up positions on chessbase is allowed. So based on the fact that he's not banned I'd guess it is... but I could be wrong idk
i really wonder if a lot of my opponents are using chessbase in games....
I highly suggest going to his Youtube channel, ChessCoachAndras and watching his reaction video as well as Amateur Minds #10. In the reaction video he fully explains what happened in the accusation video, as well as his personal feelings involved. In the Amateur Minds video, he shows the message from Lichess he received after contacting them directly to ask for clarification. Lichess stated that they deemed he was not cheating after looking over the evidence, but asked him to refrain from using the database during live games, which he has readily agreed to. Anyone who watches his streams regularly, or even watches his Youtube videos would agree that he is not a cheater, nor has any reason to cheat.
