What comes to your mind when you see this image: An adorable horse? A lazy drawing? For me, I see the end of the world, and here is why:
On April 1, 2020, Lichess created a new logo as an "April's Fool Joke" (lichess.org/blog/XoQhTxAAACEAouYd/announcing-our-new-logo-not-really): People took it lightly using the image to react to regular forum posts. To the normal human eye, this just seems like an innocent little fad that would end in a day, and it should've been; but Lichess had different plans.
Now you may be thinking; "This guy is crazy! I'm gonna click off this thread." But please bear with me, I'll show you some evidence: Our first piece of evidence here is an innocent profile that was instantly brain-washed by Horsey; @Dah_HappyH0ppyHorsi3. If you take a look at his profile, you can see that his writing style has gone to complete nonsense; he seems to have forgotten every ELA lesson he's ever taken in his life. Now you may be thinking "So? That's just one person, the world isn't ruined..." And I totally understand where you're coming from, if you want to find some more profiles, I suggest checking out this thread; lichess.org/forum/off-topic-discussion/speak-horsish.
Now you may be thinking; "Sure, you got us there, some people have been brain-washed. But how is this the work of Lichess?" Simple; they've been reaching out to some of their friends and making them spread propaganda. I have two samples of this; a group and a thread.
First, the group; on an unidentified date FIDE Master and owner of popular program Rochade Europa - Schachzeitung @jeffforever created a group by the name of "Horsey," due to himself being heavily associated with Lichess (his profile is verified) it amassed a huge group member count of 620+ (and is still growing). New-comers of this group will be sucked into the Horsey rabbit-hole and ultimately become one of the brain-washed ones, a simple trick played by Lichess to brain-wash more and more people.
Second off, the thread; 40 hours ago a well-known user of Lichess; @Vertonghen posted a thread by the name of "3 benefits of speaking Horsish" (lichess.org/forum/team-HFmtX6mT/3-benefits-of-speaking-horsish) in which it gave some of the worst reasons to ever exist, but since most of the users here are of a younger age, they believed it, "Well, prove him wrong then." You may be thinking: Gladly so:
1. It doesn't affect your creative process at all, you're not gonna be creating world-class inventions that will make you rich, you'll just be more and more cryptic with your talking at the point where not even Horshish speakers will understand you.
2. The language was invented months ago—Horsish was sort of something that came with Horsey which was invented on April 1st, 2020 (lichess.org/blog/XoQhTxAAACEAouYd/announcing-our-new-logo-not-really)—great source you have right there.
3. Horsey is literally a drawn character, but I guess he'll help you, in BEING BRAIN-WASHED.
Now that I have proven my point, you may be wondering how @Vertonghen is connected with Lichess at all; All you have to do is look at their Correspondence matches, 3 weeks ago they played a game with the man himself, the owner of Lichess; @thibault. You may be saying "Well, just because he got a match with @thibault doesn't mean he's associated with Lichess." And that completely false; if you try challenging @thibault you'll be met with a prompt that says "thibault only accepts challenges from friends." This shows that they're obviously friends and are associated in some way.
I have laid my cards down, I challenge you @thibault and @NoJoke into what you were actually thinking with this. Until next time, Alexander_501_Q300.
Edit: Known user @UltraMuddish has lost his mind due to Horsey, he has made the right choice by turning on Kid Mode to prevent the Horsey propaganda take over his head. Horsey is like drugs, drugs can ruin your life.
