Xi Jinping To Declare War On Japan?

@what_game_is_this said in #10:

Very simple solution: the leaders of China just have to improve mainland China to the extent that Taiwan elects to join.

This goes for other countries too.

By the way; why is it so important for China, that Taiwan joins, that a war is acceptabe? How much would the lives of the population improve? For the Chinese? For the Taiwanese?

When did totalitarian leaders ever care about how things improve? All they care about is power, ideology and fire.

Also, China is an ideological enemy also to republican leaders. Looking at the already existing "trade war", I don't think Trump would bow down to Xi as much as he does to Putin.

"I don't think Trump would bow down to Xi as much as he does to Putin."

  • Let Putin have Ukraine, let Xi have Taiwan, and let Trump have Venezuela, Panama, Canada, and Greenland.
    All happy.

Taiwan belonged to China till Japan colonized it. after World War 2, it was being returned to China. the US backed loser in the Chinese Civil War, Chiang Kai Shek, took it over, instituted martial law and repressed the locals. The US has recognized Taiwan as part of China for decades. This is called the One China Policy. .Now the US is using Taiwan the same way it has used Ukraine, pretending it is fighting for freedom, just as it does in Ukraine. Just as it is doing in Venezuela.
China is not an aggressive empire.
Russia is not an aggressive empire.
The US is an aggressive empire.

The US is stupid.
Just look at how kindergartenly they have divided all these properties, between the democrats and the republicans!

It would be laughable, if it weren't so gutwrenchingly stupidly sad.
Using a ruler, drawing it across the land, like they were spitting in the face of anything biological.

Bunch of toddlers in drawing class, if you ask me.

China will invade Taiwan by 2027 at the latest. This might tie in nicely with both Russia finalizing their genocide over the Ukrainians and also allowing N Korea to build up their military a little and get in on the action. This is not what hope will happen but it seems rather incontrovertible at this point.

The real question is, "What does it mean for us American investors who might profit off of it in some way?" Well, I think investing in really well run producing and expanding Gold miners now, oil by mid 2026, and then maybe uranium as well in early 2026 is a really good bet. This should all be very inflationary and good for energy production.

"What does it mean for us American investors"

  • The United States weapons industry benefits from wars and war threats.

That would be a bad time to invade, considering that Trump -needs- a war to stay in power and avoid prosecution, just as Netanyahu. In reality - China will likely avoid open war with the US for at least decades. Not until their economy shows real signs of stagnation & strain and the effectiveness of the dictatorship is called into question.

salmon rushdie gets it right that Trump needs a war, (so he supports attacking Russia using a neonazi Ukraine), and Netanyahu needs a war (hence the full throated support for the Nazi style genocide) to avoid prosecution for corruption. he or she of course is wrong with respect to whose economy is showning signs of a strain (that would be the US), and whose corrupt system of governance is very much being called into question.

@tpr not just the US, Europe has been profiting from the war industry too. And the US is now seeking to offload the costs of its failed proxy war in Ukraine onto Europe, selling Europe increasingly less valuable arms at higher prices, not to mention oil. And the coteries of European leaders are trying to develop their own arms industry as the economies of individual states like Germany, France and the UK come under increasing pressure as a result. I have seen this described as "military Keynesianism", and is the motive for the increasing hysteria about Russia.

I'm sure it happens all the time, I myself once started a war over a simple plate of chips. As the Snickers ad says: "You're not you when you're hungry"

and as the 5-star ad goes: Eat 5-star, do nothing.
