"hehe" vs "haha"

My native language is english.

The world may never know
my guess would be a fusion of goth and hillbilly, as seen through the eyes of a swede

Bulgarian and English Speaker, for me "haha" shows fun laughter although "hehe" is a sign of mocking or laughing at someone in a rude way when he loses or fails.
If Nelson Muntz says "Ha Ha"...He's laughing at you and your pain. Little girls go "He He" :] Native Language- English {American}
In German we have hi-hi (grinning), hu-hu (hello!) and ho-ho (stunned) as well.

Agree, "he-he" is mildy sarcastic. A new word for you to learn: German's "Schadenfreude!"
Esperanto speaker, it be of interest to note that hehe is an exclamation of 'finally','at last' in dutch.
In spanish and catalan we say jaja and jeje. The first one normal laughter and the other more of a fun mockery. We also use jiji and juas juas as a fun mockery.
