Flat Earthers

@GrandLapin "The point is these controversies are promoted for the sake of restricting free speech."
@havfanridindis "Maybe partially, but there are those who sincerely believe such things."

Yes, there are some who sincerely believe such things, but most don't, in my opinion. I befriended a guy two years ago and we would hang around, and sometimes do some music together and after about 4 months I learnt he was "flat earther", and I was really surprised. Then when I sloooowly started asking him about that, I realised he doesn't believe the shape of the earth is really flat.

It's always more likely on various forums they just want some fun, and sometimes (maybe more often than one would think) they do have some serious agenda, like anti religion, free speech or just generally raising the gap between "two groups" of people.
I wonder how satellites with no thrusters would remain above a flat earth in more or less the same altitude :)
Earth clearly isn't flat, otherwise Russian kids would be taking selfies on the edge.
I asked a Flat Earther on Facebook and never got an answer. If the Earth is flat, what keeps a person on the ground and prevents them from floating away? Most explanations I have read is that the Earth is constantly accelerating in an upward movement. Anyone have any other explanation? I have more questions, depending on the answer to that one.

According to Flat Earth Doctrine, how old is the Earth?
Which way does a compass needle point on a flat earth ?
@bunyip North would be top if looking from above, South bottom. East right, and west left. Gravity would be a problem though. Watch VSauce's video on if the earth was flat he has a simulation of what the physics would be like, also you could walk on the "Edge of the earth" and beyond normally like in the centre.
However, that then depends on the direction of the planet towards the sun.
