Trump shuts down national LGBTQ+ suicide hotline

We already have a suiside hotline in place already right?

Lgbtq youth are 4 times more likely to attempt suicide, and let's not get started with the statistics on trans people. This hotline was better equipped to help these teens and wasn't even expensive - it probably costs far less than trumps silly military parade to maintain

Yep, it was so costly that they didn't have money left for buying WD40 for the annoyingly sqeaquy tank.

i used that line before, and i don’t think i would be here without it. all i’ve got to say is that it isn’t about the spending. hell, it isn’t even about a study calling the line ineffective. it’s really just about pinning it on trans people and blaming the whole rainbow for it, because that is what the want: the whole rainbow gone.

surely if gay kids don’t have a line to call...they’ll just turn straight? if those trans kids don’t have a line to call...they’ll turn cis? and neither of these will feel like they’re in a world that’s actively encouraging their death?

What load of bullshit, if that was a case, here would be death threats on every website, instead nearly every single person is supporting lgbt, you have more trouble being anti-lgbt than being trans, or gay. You guys are putted on pedistal, every single problem, everywhere support, litterally corporations putting specially for you, a logo. If you where accually oppessed noone would even care, look at men problems, do society cares about male problem or talk about it, no. Is someone offended by male being 10 more likely be homeless, no. Social media is very quiet. You don't even realize for privileged you are, palestians would be banned if they started talking how bad they have

yep! they are in such a sad world!

so u say that there would be death threats on every website, and that there instead is so much support...i don’t think it works like that dawg! there r a lot of countries where homosexuality is illegal, and much more where it is frowned upon to be, if not even look, gay. u can say it isn’t explicit, but really it’s implicit. it’s implied that being gay is bad, it’s implied that if you are gay you’re bad. that in itself leads to people ostracizing you, or even killing you, and it’s much more so applied to trans people.

we aren’t really put on a pedestal nor drowning in support, either! i’ll say that things are definitely better than in 2010, 2000, or really any time before. however! things r still bad. a third of the people in these united states don’t really think gay people should marry, and half of them are fine with taking away the rights of trans people to do as they find fit with things including but not limited to: bathroom access, the right to serve, sports, gender markers on official documents, and access to medications. we have guys like trump dedicating national child abuse prevention month this year to talk about how gender ideology is among the worst things a parent can do to a child, while saying all abusers will be persecuted. there’s also meta (facebook, instagram) which has now said it’s fine to call an lgbtq person mentally ill! don’t forget that in florida, they had to remove the ap psychology course for high schoolers statewide because they talk about sexual orientation and gender identity! can you imagine losing out on college credit because people are making a fuss about gay students and teachers being in the classroom?

i think it’s also important to say...men have their own issues to fight against! i myself didn’t know men were more prone to homelessness, but i take it all the more reason to learn more about what you’re talking about ^-^

like, palestinians are also going through their own storm right now! they certainly are worse off than i am (i don’t have to worry about airstrikes or food security, for a start).
