Tell me a game that is fun to play.

i live in a cave. i found a tennis ball when i went into town. brought it back to the cave with me. i throw it against the cave wall. there is a small area on the cave wall that is smooth and when the ball hits there it bounces right back to me. it's a fun game to aim for the small area and i have gotten pretty good at hitting it consistently.

According to Plato, there's a chance that we are ALL "living in a cave," metaphorically.

And on the cave's wall we see shadows, and hear sounds, that are mere hints at reality.

Nevertheless, there's one game that is fine beyond measure:

The game is called "chess" -- which is at its finest (at its maximum glory) when one plays the lovely Hippopotamus opening.

Notice that I do NOT call it the Hippopotamus "defense" -- because it can be played BOTH with the black pieces and the white pieces.

Indeed, the Hippopotamus opening (that most lovely of chess openings) turns chess into more than a game -- it turns it into a lasting life lesson that produces wisdom where once there was only longing for something more profound.

Fortunately, one doesn't have to be able to spell it to play it. One only needs a virtuous, patient and brave soul ! (Although it works okay for me, too).

I suspect @BaronWasteland1 is a true original, not a copy or a mere follow-on, and therefore meant to type "wouldn't be" -- and I suspect, as usual, that he's got a point.

Notice that he does not have to resort to hyperbole. Instead, he seems to set a good, calm example.

America is not now, or apparently becoming, a "wasteland" -- and, to the contrary, President Trump and the many really talented people working with him seem to have IMPROVED a lot of things lately.

Don't just believe me (not that many antagonists ever would) -- it's possible to actually check! And by "check" I don't just mean listen to some emotional summary from a news "personality." I mean find the actual numbers -- and look at them!

How about the stock market, lately? Anybody checked it? How's it doing? How about unemployment? Inflation? The price of gas? Seeing any evidence of a catastrophe?

I'm all ears, if so! Except for the other, non-ear parts of me.

One of my favorite video games of all time is Silent Hill. Another one is Mario Kart. I had some favorite computer games as a kid, too. I really enjoyed the King's Quest series, Sid Meier's Pirates, and It Came From The Desert.
