For proper time management, we must be aware of our clock time at all moments. And ideally to our opponents clock time too.... Looking away from the board is not a problem when there is enough time, but when clocks are down to a few seconds, things change.
The shorter we are in time, the more we need to watch the clock, yet the worst it is to waste any fraction of time and the greater are the chances of overlooking one of our opponents move while diverting our eyes to the clock.
IMHO, there are only two ways around that.
A - an audible indication of clock time
B - a visual indication of clock time, within the board
Do you agree ?
