Lichess for Android Tablet [ALPHA]

I coded something in the last days. It's buggy, because WebView normally don't supports WebSockets at all and strange workarounds are needed... If anyone know android browser engine that I could use instead this, please let me know.

APK download (Android 4.03 or higher, minimum 7" screen): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7967032/lichess.apk

You could use Crosswalk WebView (https://crosswalk-project.org/). It is based on chrome and supports WebSockets!

It'll probably still be a while. It's in complete alpha stages at the moment.

So I tried your app on my MemoPad HD 7... and I don't think it's very good, because it is really just lichess in a frame. And this doesn't use the WebKit rendering engine, it uses the stock Android "Internet" browser's rubbish rendering engine which can't get font icons right.

Anyway, you seem to know a thing or two about mobile development... consider helping out Thibault and veloce in building a more mobile-friendly version of lichess.

@thibault Wow, thanks! I will give it a try! Do you need any help with it? :)

@Hellball It's because Webkit rendering engine is available only on Android 4.4+, and I have Android 4.1.1 tablet... And reverse-engineering + porting all websocket code of Lichess by my hand is too much for me. Thankfully thibault started doing proper app! :)
