Other ones in my top few, unordered: Odessey, Wind, Sand and Stars, A short walk in the Hindu Kush, Voyage of the Beagle , Anabasis, One River , The starship and the canoe, Great Heart, Moby Dick, The curve of time, On the Road Kerouac. We can build you, Homage to Catalonia and Down and Out in Paris and London , To Kill a Mockingbird, The Cossacks by Leo Tolstoy, And quietly Flows the Don by Mikhail Sholokhov. Desert Solitaire Edward Abbey and A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. and King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table by Mallory.
I like most of Kurt Vonnegut's books. Unrelated fact: I thought he was German for some reason before I googled his name. I also read the Three-Body Problem, all three books. Even though I probably didn't understand them, I still like the writing. Especially the Dark Forest. This is a spoiler, so read at your own risk. the part where Yun Tianming conceals the advanced concepts humanity needed to survive in the three stories he told Cheng Xin was great. Some of the character names mean something in Chinese, like Luo Ji meaning logic and Cheng Xin means sincerity or "honest heart".
