Why noone wants to play long time control chess 960?

How you can play it so fast I feel overwhelmed, so many ways to play
There aren't enough people, so wait times are long, and because wait times are long there aren't enough people. Its a vicious cycle. It probably doesn't help that there aren't separate ratings for the time controls for variants, but lichess' rationale for that is reasonable.

Anyway, you can play daily 960 at chess.com if you like. I do that, sometimes. But somehow I had an off game or two in the provisional rating phase, and now my rating is like 1350, and I gained I think like 10 for a win. When I'm 1750 at 960 here.

P.S. I don't wait very long at all for 5 +7 games, and I see you playing 5+3 and such. No need to do that. Set it for 5 +7, or even 10/0 and go surf the net. Not that you necessarily need to go away, but wait times can definitely be a couple of minutes at off peak hours. The only annoying thing about that is that once in a while for reasons I dont understand I dont get a noise or notification and dont make it back int time to play my first move.

It does get easier to play 960 with experience. You stop dropping the a or h pawns and losing a rook. You stop taking the a or h pawns when its just a pawn and the cost in development might be high or get your queen misplaced. You realize that b4 might actually be a good way to get the bishop on a1 in the action, but that its generally safer to play b3 when you dont have time to think about it. And then as you get even more experienced you think, you can quickly tell when b4 is ok. I mean generally, in the last super gm tournament one of the white players got an absolutely shit position out of the opening playing b4 unwisely. So it does remain hard, it just gets easier.

But I feel ya. I have a better position in like 70% of my games by the early middlegame, but often dont have time to close the deal.

Thank you for the answer.
There are comparatively few players who

-play long games
-like chess960

I do not know the exact dates, but check the link that I gave above: lichess4545.com. That side has a separate section for the chess960 league. There you get access to all the seasons and all the league games and you can do your own research. One caveat is that it started as a 15+15 league and changed to 20+20 somewhat recently, but again, you can figure that out by looking at the league games, which are linked on the website.
