The off topic forum is dead

There's no point pinging mods. Lichess never chat bans a person without legitimate reasons. If those users want to get back to the forums, their only option is to wait for sixth month and then appeal again.

It is true that we have lost a few intelligent and funny posters but I have to mention that there are still a lot of decent posters around. Humour is very subjective. Just because you don’t find certain threads entertaining to read does not mean that they are not conversation inviting. There have been quite a few science/philosophy-related topics created by Dukedog recently and they are all pretty thought-provoking. Chummer and Sabutuma’s posts are always interesting to read, IMO.

Instead of moaning about how crap off topic this forum has become, why doesn’t everyone just try and come up with good thread ideas?

What's the reason they chatbanned (@)tpr, eh?
@Tae7 I agree with you to some extent, cloesems, chummer, sarg0n, sanyob, ak888, shadow1414, and even u and me are trying our best to keep the forums alive.
But just think about it.
If we guys continue to post, and names like tpr, vertonghen, ultramuddish, deadlykillerinstinct, bunyip, and others get unchatbanned, and names like aoop09, zwischenzugx11, soccergirl08, creativethinking, agnivo2008, sid1410 etc post more often, the forums will be as wonderful as ever.

I completely agree. If you think the Off-Topic is dying then make some useful topics. No use criticizing others of making spam topics when you could liven up the forums yourself by making some good discussions. Or just stay off the off-topic and post in the general chess or feedback or game analysis.
