I wrote this song (more like a poem) for chess. I hope you enjoy it on some way:
Chess Song (Lyrics)
Original
The Kings meet on the fields,
Their banners raised above.
Fighting till the other yields,
They share one true love.
The White advances his pawns,
To the middle he will secure.
The Black then readily responds,
Sending knights to strike the rear.
The war rages full and fierce,
As bishops and rooks descends.
Through both sides they pierce,
Neither King will make amends.
The White takes a painful loss,
And flees to his castle named “Rook”.
With stony walls covered in moss,
Like something out of a fiction book.
The Black advances with Caro Kann,
His pride and ego takes control.
And so he loses his right-hand man,
Which sends shivers to his soul.
Both Kings now hasten the fight,
As they seek to capture the other.
Oh, see the day lose it’s shining light,
Enemies which once were brothers.
Through the night White endures,
And Black now runs to the rear.
And to a secret trap he lures,
But the White does not even fear.
The Black calls for his queen,
But she’s taken by an ambushed knight.
The White shows he’s so mean,
As he ignores the woman’s pleading plight.
The White outnumbers the Black,
But neither give in or resign.
The Black cares not for what he lacks,
The White moves up his battle line.
As the armies engage for victory,
They forget their battle plan.
Panic makes them fight so badly,
Until each side only has one man.
The kings face each other at last,
Seeing the pain so visibly raw.
A battle for dominance ended fast,
As both kings then settle for a draw.

So to the players one and all,
When you play take heed.
For pride comes before a fall,
Humility is your greatest need.
The game is one of skill,
Of thinking and strategy.
You can make the kill,
When you do it carefully.
Don’t judge based on rating,
Nor on titles or names.
For such are misleading,
And don’t affect your game.
Please hear my advice and know,
That these things I speak are true.
By wisdom and practice you’ll grow,
But these sayings are nothing new.
The best virtue you can possess,
Is a loving heart and a clear mind.
For you will be truly blessed,
And joy and fellows you will find.
May good luck follow your ways,
And kindness and humbleness abound.
As you participate on future days,
And keep your feet firmly on the ground.
All victory and fellowship I wish you,
The love of good and dear friends.
I hope you see that this is true,
And that your chess journey never ends.
Peace and Victory my dear readers,
Take care of how you treat others.
For by your actions you can be leaders,
And affect the choices of your brothers.
;)
