On January 5, the 150th anniversary of the birth of King Kamp Zhillett, a man whose name now knows everyone. He was enriched in the production and sale of safe razors.
The razors, however, were not the only topic of thought of King Zhillett. Moreover, he himself considered it much more important than business, his second passion - the search for a better life for everyone.
Zhillett published his first work in the field of social and state reforms back in 1894, a year before, in his own words, the idea of a razor machine with disposable safe blades came to him. In the book, he presented his vision of the state - a single company (it was called - United Company), owned by all Americans. The place of individual corporations should have taken vertically controlled sectors of the economy that exclude any competition. One company had to engage in eggs, the other - elevators, the third, for example, shoes for shoes. For the inhabitants of the United States, Zhillett dreamed, it is necessary to build a city-a 60-million metropolis-on the banks of Niagara near the waterfall, which would give energy for everyone.
