I mean everybody had help, it's a team game nobody wins alone.

In that game, New York started 6'9" Cleveland Buckner and 6'10" Darall Imhoff.
Rumor has it that he once had a game with 53 points, 32 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 steals, and 24 blocks.
As the most dominant NBA player ever, you gotta put him in the conversation.
Hell, a good deal of Russell's legacy is the fact that he was able to beat the guy with the rest of his team.
Mick The Miller.

Admittedly he was a greyhound and not a goat but he was fast.

Slam dunk!
If I'm being rational and objective (which is no fun) depending on the era we're discussing it's probably either Magic, Bird, Jordan, Bryant, James or Curry if we're going as far back as the '80s up to the present. Personally out of that list I like Steph Curry the best.

If I put my "girl who grew up in Indiana in the '90s and '00s" hat on: REGGIE MILLER. Hands down. Tell me all you want about how those Pacers teams didn't win a ring and blah-blah-blah. That's the team I grew up watching. I do not care.

I also truly think the Pacers are due for a championship at last and this current team might just be able to do it if the core players stick around and no one gets injured.

Frankly - I don't think there's one singular GOAT in basketball because every era is different.
