Mention of Chess on TV

I know you guys don't waste your time watching TV, but they had one thing on Jeopardy this evening that made me look up. The category was Words that End with Z, and the clue was something like, To kid or give unwanted advice to a Chess player. The correct response was, What is kibitz? This is a new term to me. Now if I ever get any unwanted advice while playing Chess, I'll know what to call the guy.
A common term back in the days of pre- internet chess. A kibitzer or a group of them will also point out after your game ...how you could have played better. I saw that show tonight and I got it right. Also on TV viewing...there's a time for chess and TV time ...like for Jeopardy. :]
By the way, it‘s German. A Kiebitz is a bird actually.
Thanks for the additional for the additional information you guys.
I'm moved by the additionality of your additions. Oceans can't even describe how it makes me vomit.
