Is it possible to have one single serious thread on lichess off-topic without trolls and spammers...

dumussdieuhrdruecken,i never seen anyone complain as much as you do.Forums are just the way they are, just let them be

Come on... You are like me, we don't Pikachuose anything but a second queen.

Be honest now...
Whenever you get a pass pawn, finally reaching the last row, after multiple of failed attempts, haven't you ever screamed out loud
"I CHOOSE YOU MY NEW QUEEN"
While throwing the pawn at whatever opponent or arbitrator is nearest?
2022 Lichess forums were terrible. The off-topic forums really aren't that bad.
"off-topic", here, means "not chess or lichess related"; while the trolls seem to want to believe that this part of the lichess forums is 'off a n y topic', or simply "off", so like spamming flooding & trolling were a downright 'must' in this neat little area of the wide web world indernetz

isn't it.

If I may... Got my canine pack on for bites.
It's world wide web to start with and you are the destroyer of forums, as all what you texted here if I did it I would be muted/blocked/sanctions but not you?
If I report I get message false reporting may cause to closure account...
It makes one wonder, not your low frequency data conversions but the nonsensical attacking people for their opinion even if it was not about you, you need absolutely to destroy it in order to be the OP nr1 here?
And the non partial decisions of mods here as well.
Favoritism, or double standards on some others not.

it means anything but chess that includes everything but chess .no limit to it unless you are insulting person ,race, country or religion, you can write abaut anything you want.thats the best part abaut it.I can sense you want attention. We all do,thats why we are here but you are unable to get it with a post that people will like or admire so you attack people and you pretend you are superior.if you are so great than i dare you to write a post that everyone will admire.

If you're active on any social media like X or Reddit, you'll know that it's at least 100 times more toxic than on Lichess - here, no one insults people named Jessica or French people, no one will call you a n**b (because if it's in this case it will be sanctioned), no one shows memes at the limit of -18 and no one will write Holly h*ll in a spam style

Clearly it is not the same caliber of "troll" (in any case here you will find at worst conscious parodies of troll, for humorous purposes) and you should realize to what extent the Lichess forum is, especially for minor users. Today in the era of internet, Lichess is like an oasis.

Off topic can be related to anything - serious or not as long as you respect Lichess behavior etiquette.
and just because a topic isn't outwardly serious doesn't mean it can't have potential for different response styles, that's the whole point; to develop creativity. and sometimes answers that seem crazy can actually hide a homage to pop culture, an urban legend or a reference to a meme.
therefore, to understand and analyze, we must seek and admit not knowing everything to have an attitude of Socratic ignorance, conducive to the discovery and development of personal culture.

And above all show tolerance because each person has their own culture, their own references and their own style.

Separating the off topic forum into 2 categories would be a bad idea which would prevent any form of humor, particularly grotesque humor and would undoubtedly transform the Lichess forum into a rigid place, like an empty field in winter.

No, the Lichess forum should be and will be cool.

I have to contest my dear friend, I do also to friends.
The same things on X Teddit fb ig tg name it are all subject to my eye and I see same. As a note those exit nodes as well.

The calibre is not same but yet with the accounts counted active and responding there is a bias.

I agree on your 3rd and 4th statement.

I disagree that last point or we all have to change our behavior, you want kids to see this all?

And yes I encourage this site only it is centralized.
Don't come with open source etc or freeLibre etc all the rest as that is also centralized.

the subjects may be similar and there is the fashion effect, but in any case I don't see the same toxicity in the messages or comments (I also have a private Instagram account in addition to Reddit).
I think it's 1) because Lichess is a chess platform and there is a specific audience (chess players).

2) Lichess is more serious in its moderation measures, particularly on behavior with racist, misogynistic or insulting tendencies, etc.

I am also not generalizing the behaviors that I cited throughout Reddit, rchess for example is very close to our chess discussion and is quite friendly. but while looking for channels related to chess, I saw certain channels which would fortunately not be tolerable on Lichess: for example a channel containing exclusively photos of women playing chess (probably published without the agreement of the players) with a significant number of comments that could be assimilated to mysoginy.

I clearly can't remember any real toxic trolls on Lichess for 5-6 months, but in any case I stand by my position that they are rarer than on other social networks.

rather an attitude or philosophy than a behavior. cultivating curiosity is important, no matter the age
