"Freemason, anyone?"

I'm wondering if there's any freemasons out there and if so why you are and what you get out of being a part of the organization. I have great respect for freemasonry and its history, but I don't see the point of being a part of the organization anymore, but I'd very much be interested in an argument against my perspective. There are some wonderful achievements in the history of global freemasonry. For example, the French revolution which toppled corrupt nobility (people like me) in favor of government that represented the needs of the people. Just before the French was the American revolution. Another, free mason led revolution, but better documented as a masonic revolution, in which the ideals of masonry are still cemented in the fabric of the US to this day. Skipping forward hundreds of years, we have the Russian revolution in which my family lost around $400 Million USD in Russian property to the Russian peasant class. I never quite understood the Russian revolution as the idea of taking land from a family that is personally responsible for freeing the peasant class from the 'Huns' and handing it over to a population too cowardly and ineffective to govern themselves properly seems more than a little outrageous to me, but history is what it is.

Flashing forward to the 1980's, I remember vividly my dad's masonic friends and business partners every year crowded into our living room while they watch poorly recorded interviews at bars of vice presidents of American and Canadian companies regarding what their plans are over the next few years and analyzing earnings reports. I remember this took an immense of organization to get these interviews and the volume on our TV was turned up all the way and the sound quality was horrible.

Nowadays, we have youtube and we have social clubs. I think simply "Freemasonry" is played out! It's a thing of the past. I don't see any benefit to it because there is simply so much that is possible with youtube, X, and so forth that we don't need any secretive groups. It's all potentially moving out in the open. So, I'm not a "freemason" because I don't see the point. I went to a seminary, for example, but in all honesty some of the stuff on youtube about Saints and theology is better than the classes I took! Hence, I argue, youtube and stuff like that is the new masonic society!!

I can't answer any of those questions it's a secret.

Also, if you were real nobility you wouldn't be asking.

I don't think anyone is going to tell you they're a freemason , being a secret society and all. But I can tell you they're in alot of trouble. xxx

Perhaps you'd prefer the Shriners. I mean, who doesn't like wearing a fez?

@salmon_rushdie

What makes you think people blessed with divine blood lines want to belong to some peasant revolutionary clan like the "free masons," who topple the blending of Church and State and disallow noble titles within their organization!??
