I caution Europeans, however, that not all sources of news present equally clear-sighted views of America. Sometimes what "everybody knows" just ain't so. For those who were recently "surprised," it might be helpful to reflect upon your surprise. And then take rightful comfort in discovering that Hitler has not, in fact, risen from the dead. No matter what you might have heard, metaphorically speaking.
