Unfair time out

People are getting timed out in lichess after reports and they will be banned from the chat for 10 minutes but if there message was not bad and they get timed out that is unfair and lichess report meassage is not good enough to conform if that reported meassage is good or bad can you please fix this @Thibault and when someone gets timed out for 10 minutes can there not be a meassage in the chat if someone is Timed out

There is no automatic chat timeout system to fix, because there ISNT an automatic chat timeout system: Lichess mods handle the timing out themselves. While I’m sure mistakes are occasionally made, it shouldn’t be a major problem... just wait your 10 minutes. I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking so I might be answering the wrong question.

I was reported in some tournaments and the meassages were not inappropriate but I was just banned

Obviously more than 1 person thought you said something bad (the reporter and the mod who reviewed it), so it seems that your message was hurtful regardless of its intent.

Also, public embarrassment is a good incentive to behave oneself in the chat.

There is nothing unfair about the current system.

I can personally vouch for @Pranavchinna. I participated in the tournament he was banned in. He put one message complementing me. He didn't say anything wrong. The person who reported him was just mad because he lost to @Pranavchinna .

Tournament creators and study owners can also time out within their own events or studies. It is not always moderator action.
