swiss tournament

Can't be that difficult to reimplement it. Lichess used to have swiss tournaments. It's not like starting from scratch here.
Lichess also used to halt when running marathons, and many performance-related improvements (including database changes) have been made.

If it's not that difficult, I welcome you to contribute the change?
And I also welcome you to do it. Whee.

Spolier: you don't want me anywhere near lichess code. I've written this type of stuff before and it's not pretty.

Besides, the point was that the code existed at some point, so it's probably still somewhere. If I could find that old code and submit it, I would happily do it. I have no idea where it is, but I'm sure someone does.
You must remember that Swiss Tournament is Idea of Kristo-

few time ago,my Idea was first on lichess, was landed here but her history was with the end,so I(best Team Leader on lichess) I think that many people have right but it must be forced by many hard brains or one of all
@Toscani
Yes, that was the one, but if Lichess not give green-light for Swiss system again in the immediate future then we should find an alternative solution, as you introduced the ladder idea at #19.
Your method support long time controls as well?

I think the other problem with the multiple day tournament (and ladder too) is scheduling: the two paired player have to agree in a mutually acceptable date when the match will take place (within a week for example). I would be happy if we found some quick fix for this problem.
Look. (Energetic lichess member)
Announce a tournament. No "scheduling" necessary.
Players sign up for the announced start time and format. (Would have to be correspondence)
Get feedback as to what is most popular. 1/3 day etc.
If someone was so inclined to organize a correspondence event, go for it. Not sponsored by lichess but a private event. I wouldn't think any issue exists.
I'd participate.
Start with 12 maybe even 24 players, 2/4 sections of 6 play double rd. robin. 2 sections? <1600 and <2200. Then playoff. If proves popular, then maybe Lichess developer invests.
A table of players and results is simple enough and can be stored anywhere.

Indeed, the www.lichess4545.com does a good job organizing such team tournaments, but the process would be much more streamlined if it would be the internal part of Lichess and not an external site. I hope you are right, and someday the developers make these features too.
