I've noted some computer cheaters show up 2 different characters.
`*The overfriendly, overhumbly ones, that also sometimes tries to pass themself off as interesting, talking in an exaggregated way about openings...
*The overaggressive ones, that throw out swearings and bad words when they get accused.
LM Chessinstinct was a cheater belonging to the 1st category. After beating me he once said something like "I'm surprised I managed to play this game so perfectly." Is this a comment likely to tell your opponent after a won game? First, how can you be sure you played perfectly (if you don't use an engine). Second, a more natural reaction would be "YIPPIE!! I WON!!"
The comment "I'm surprised I managed to play this game so perfectly." is probably intended to, in an overfriendly and overhumbly way , pass himself off as a fair player by saying that he sometimes sucks and is surprised over his perfect play. Also in public forums where he was accused of cheating he answered like "I prefer to not be suspect." A more natural reaction would be "I'm not a cheat!" or "Report me if you want"
The fact that LM Chessinstinct both managed to get and keep the LM title for a very long time and that he exhibits a rather remarkable social behaviour is maybe worth some consideration. Is social behaviour an underrated factor when catching cheaters? Of course, only strange social behaviour isn't enough for banning but it's possible to intense the monitoring of players with such a behaviour.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?
