Puzzle system is frustrating more than it is rewarding

Either these puzzles are given to me because they are expected to be at my level (in which case I should be able to solve around half of them) or I solve a lot more than half and should climb and get more difficult puzzles.

Right now I need to solve around 80% of all puzzles to gain points.

Looking at past stats I can see 7w9L giving -36.
A 2 loss difference made me lose more points than 8 straight wins in a row gave me.

EIGHT.

Either give me more difficult puzzles or more points for wins. Right now I'm solving one after the other until a lapse of judgement makes me lose more points than I gained for solving eight in a row.

This isn't fun. It isn't challenging. It isn't even a proper warmup.

It's just frustrating.

You don't get harder puzzles because your puzzle rating is only in the 1500s after having done thousands and thousands of them. That is not because of rare "lapses in judgment". You will get harder puzzles when you become better at them.

So, your puzzle rating equals your other ratings which means: the system is adjusted perfectly.

If you want to climb up: just sit on you hands, time is not a factor as far as I know. Just move when you are sure, that‘s the way I do. Then you might end up overrated like Sarg0n eventually.

Since when is Puzzle rating equaling other ratings a qualifier for anything? Useless comment.

And I don't get harder puzzles because of rare lapses in judgement. If I solve 4 and fail one and end up having the same amount of points then it's a bad system.

Puzzle ratings work just as normal lichess ratings. You solve one that's much higher rated than you, you gain a lot of rating. You fail one that's much lower rated than you, you lose a lot of rating.

That's exactly the point of my critique.

I am only getting puzzles with a much lower rating if I keep winning 2-5 points but lose 18-25.

I should receive puzzles that are around my rating i.e. give and take similar amounts.

It's called a strawman and you need to stop.
I never said anything even remotely similar to what you are insinuating.

If you fail the puzzles other people have solved easily then you lose a lot of points. If you solve the easy ones you gain a couple of points. You can criticize this but that’s how rating works.

I'm not saying the rating system should be different. I'm saying I'm only getting easy puzzles. This has nothing to do with the rating system. Nobody is talking about the rating system except you.

My complaint is that no matter what I do, I only get easy puzzles.

When I solve one I always get few points, if I don't solve it I lose a lot of points and they are never difficult.
