Hi guys
Sorry to bang the same drum again and again, but can we please stop the previous game popup from covering the game board. This site has so many amazing design decisions, but this one is really driving crazy. Is there really no way to implement this feature so that it doesn't activate during a game and cover a live game with a popup? I love everything about this site, it is a masterpiece, but this popup is so incredibly distracting.
Thx
James
Hey,
Thanks for the report, if you are using the mobile app this is unfortunately a known issue, more info as to why it's difficult to act quickly on it:

Hi Solal35
Thx for your reply. I'm actually talking about the desktop site. This is an example...
ufile.io/svucjr9yI notice that the table which shows game history actually moves. Before the game starts it has quite a bit of space below the board, but once the clocks start, it moves so it is right underneath the live board. This means I am constantly triggering it by accident, often when in a time scramble which is obviously rather annoying,
Sorry that image link doesn't work, here is another...
I see. There is no setting to disable that pop-up for the moment. You could try expanding your board size (in the bottom right corner) to be less likely to hit it.
Maybe a CSS hack that hides the whole crosstable?
I use 'zen' mode, but i was really just questioning the position of this feature. Either the table is too close to the board, or maybe the popup could appear somewhere else, for example anywhere other than the board. I've watched people stream on twitch and they constantly activate this by accident all the time.
Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have. It's nice to see if you have played this person before, who won, etc. But I can honestly not think of a single reason why it is essential for this to cover the game in progress. Imagine playing 15 second ultra bullet and wasting 3-5seconds moving your mouse around to get rid of the popup. Makes no sense to me...
What you're suggesting sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe some dev will read this thread.
In the meantime, maybe I can suggest an ugly workaround. Un-maximize (restore?) your browser window, and drag it down so that the crosstable is offscreen. Then, your mouse can't get to it. I do this all the time to hide online ads.

a dev already has posted in this thread, so i dare say the chances are pretty good of them reading as well.
