Old accounts

I was trying to create an account a few months ago. I resorted to VVirtual. The W is actually 2 capital v’s. @Wirtual has been taken. There were some really good ones that I wanted tho.

I wish lichess would delete old or abandoned accounts that haven’t been opened in a year or so so that others could have those masterpieces of names

Unfortunately, I don't think they would be willing to let you have them, and even if they close those accounts, it will be impossible to claim it.
for example, @/tv just recently started playing even though the account is over 5 years old, so I don't think it would be possible.

Unfortunately, I think you missed some trolling. It happens to even the best of us, and this was no amateur troll.

@VVirtual the problem is if i had account x then closed it and then you use it how do we know if it was me that played a x game and not you.

It would also create confusion because you would see that your friend is online that has been for years or people claiming "dead" accounts from gm or other and getting a gm title on lichess for free
