If you paste a PGN into a study, it maxes out at 300 moves. I would have to do my mate in 549 (longest possible mate) manually for 249 moves which is going to take a long time. Make no limit to pgn copy paste or as high as possible.

Can you still go over 300 moves but will it just not save?
