For years, I have called attention to quotes from samples, made available by those involved in selling or publishing this or that book. No authors, sellers, or publishers seem to have any objection.

If you have been quoting for long time without anyone objecting you, then I suppose you shouldn't really be worried about that. And in case someone does (object), then it means it's a serious matter of attention for you.
