I think I know why Lichess didn't speak up against the genocide in Gaza

Lichess usually stands with the oppressed, with forum blogs supporting Ukraine, Black live matters, women in chess, and LGBT community among other. Yet they remained mysteriously silent about the situation in Gaza.

Well, it is public knowledge that Lichess is trying to be recognized as "reconnue d'utilité publique" by the French government, and
ndependent 501(c)(3) organisation by the US government.

It is also public knowledge that these government fiercely oppose anyone criticizing Israel, with the latest episode in date being the ICJ verdict of "possible genocide" triggering the defunding of a UN humanitarian organisation working in Gaza.

Adding one and one together isn't that hard.
Did you just opened your account for forum sp... eh posting?
In general this is a chess-playing site, not a politics site.

I guess we prefer to support life over death, and it would be far better if, instead of fighting, the leaders of the IDF and Hamas all sat down for a chess match to resolve the conflict instead, but unfortunately things don't work that way.

When I come on here to play a game, I do not care if my opponent has black or white skin, is male or female, is Russian, Ukranian, Israeli or Palestinian, nor do I even need to know.
