Hello.
Today I just received this message.
"Accusing other players of using computer assistance or otherwise cheating is not acceptable on Lichess. If you are confident >>that a player is cheating, use the report button on their profile page to report them to the moderators.
Please note that repeated violation of this policy will result in loss of communication privileges.
You can read our Communication Guidelines here: lichess.org/page/communication-guidelines."
And the truth is I'm surprised because I don't know what it means.
I haven't written in forums for months (and not to talk about someone). And I don't write while playing not even to say hello.... In fact, when I usually write it's the opposite, when I create a tournament and try to make the players not angry (It is very common for them to sometimes get angry with each other, accusing each other in the tournament chat.)
But the question I don't understand is...Why am I receiving this notice? What happened?.
Do you know what should be done or who should I ask what happened?.
Thanks.

Use the help-clean-warning section in lichess.org/appeal
Note that any implication of cheating can be considered public shaming

I thought appeals were only for bans, not warnings.
Wouldn't it be dangerous if I ask that way?

not at all. appeal works for all moderator decisions.

Not quite the same topic, but I just had another player tell me that he had reported me, after saying “nice hack” in the chat. Is there anyway that I can find out if I have been reported and for what?

no. Besides if you're not doing anything wrong, you don't need to care. You can report the other guy for shaming you

Actually if you go to the appeals page it will tell you if you are in good standing!

Well, after appealing, a moderator responded to me telling that it was a mistake and that is now fixed.
I thought that these warnings were something like yellow cards in sports, that if you accumulate a few it become a punishment. But now I think that it is something more automatic and statistical in lichess.
Anyway, this is problaby a new bug in lichess. How reports are being used for revenge or with bad intentions.
I am already clear that I am going to deactivate chats and not participate in them (And I recommend other users do the same), since far from being a communication tool, it's being used as a weapon.

They ARE yellow cards if justified and they can lead to a chatban. Of course mistakes with warnings can happen, so consider yours to be cleared
