I don't know if this is a related problem, but my friends/following list no longer appears when I'm in live chess on my laptop. I haven't changed any of my settings, it has always been there on the bottom right when I'm playing or watching a game live, and about a week or more ago it simply disappeared. I've checked recent questions and topics but didn't see anyone else that had this problem, and didn't see this feature in my live settings either, unless I've somehow missed it. I've been here for years and never had this happen before.
@seven_samurai What browser are you using? My friends list will "disappear" if I zoom in on text. How you zoom in and out from the menus is different in different browsers. But, Control Key and the +/- keys typically zoom in and out. Try resetting the zoom to zero and your friends list should reappear.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response @OneDummHikk, currently my browser is the Brave browser, and has been for a couple of years or more, and my preferred search engine is duckduckgo. I've adjusted my aspect ratio numerous times, however with no results, and try to keep it set to 100% or 110% depending on how large I need the board, I use default settings in almost every case. I hope this answers the question, inasmuch as I've never had a problem with settings until recently after the recent site upgrades and patches. I can still see the top live games in the lobby, however my private friends/following list just vanished in the past couple of weeks, so I can't tell who is online. Could it possibly be that I've followed too many players at the site? I've been here for years, and follow a lot of people, but not a huge number, usually just a dozen or two are visible at any one time. Your help is much appreciated!
