I have just lost a game because lichess was "reconnecting", and then had a "Network error". Again. After the page is back, I had already lost on time.
It would be fair if these kinds of timeouts would not be rated as a loss. I don't know if it is possible though, to identify a difference between a ragequit and network error. It would be an awesome feature.

Then everyone would just unplug their network cable in lost/tricky positions turning all the ratings completely meaningless thus also this feature.

Just happened to me there. Played a few moves, network error. Showing site as down, it comes back and I am lost.

Me too - the robot and girl having a cup of tea came up so the server recognised there was a problem - couldn't you use that Flugsio to maybe void blitz and bullet games or games with less than I dunno 5 minutes left?

This happened twice in my last game. The first time I lost about a minute (in a blitz game), the second time I saw my opponent's time go to 0 when I had 20 seconds and then suddenly BAM his move appeared and I'd lost on time...
Is it bad luck that it just affected me negatively and not my opponent on each occasion?

Alright, you all meant when the server goes down. This is rarely happens, most times network issues only affects one of the players.
There was 100% uptime this month; until the issues today, which will probably still continue. So if you are afraid of losing "points", play casual until it seems stable.

Thankfully lichess has had connection problems really rarely so far. So there's no point in changing anything.

Systems have stabilized now.

I am just glad of these issues or I would never know what it feels like to lose a game :)
No problems for me now
