Bug in Search Results for Studies

When I search for studies, search results #1-#32 are different. #33 repeats #17, #34 repeats #18 and so on. Please debug.

I noticed this aswell, Im a coach and have a lot of studies, right now I can’t search for a player’s name unless that name appears in the headline, even though I know the player is mentioned inside the study.
Is this a bug or an unintended side-effect of a recent update?
Regards Richard

Do you have your student as a member of your studies? If so could you try query like: owner: Pawnstructures member:your-student-name?

We just removed chapter text from study search as it create a lot of random noises for search in general. So now, for study search we only search for name, topic, descriptions, and owner and member syntax as above.

scratch this, I fixed so you don't need to type member:, hope it works for you now.
But using member:name is a good trick to tailor your search queries.

I remember Ulf Andersson played a specific system but i dont remember which students i worked with on this topic and i dont remember the headline, if I had known that searching inside chapter text would no longer be possible, I would have been much more careful and systematic when choosing headlines over the years. Many of my searches rely (relied) on detailed chapter content for identification, not the title itself.

With around 1,000 studies, losing internal text search makes it very hard to locate older topics unless I already remember the exact headline i would remember the GMs in the chapters, Morosevich played some line, Jobava and the search would return perhaps 20 studies where i used this topic for differen students, sometimes i remember a word i used inside a chapter, Resilience, The Dynamic Duo so what you call noise used to be my way of navigating around 1000 studies. Regards Richard

For me the recent changes feels more like a bug compared to the pre update experience.

Hi Richard,

We (mostly I, tbh) have a plan to revive chapter text search with more refined search UI which is similar (and simpler) to game advanced search (https://lichess.org/games/search). So it'll help you and other more advanced users to manage your studies.

But, in your case then it'll be difficult for you to search in current settings. Maybe if you can tell more information about your situation like: Do you add your students as members, do you have any extra information in topics or descriptions, maybe we can find a temporal solution for you. Feel free to dm me (I'll a bit less responsive during CET work hours)

Sorry for this very inconvenient.
