The board editor only allows you to create a game with a edited board with standard rules. Like say I wanted to make a racing kings variation, I couldn't, because I could only make the variant with standard rules. The only place you could do this is chess.com, which is obviously out of the question because of the ads and bad setup.
yes, I know that you can do that. But now try to edit the position of the pieces. It doesn't let you play the game.
The "Continue From Here" Button doesn't work.

Yes, stockfish probably works on it. But can you play other people? Or the computer?
