Why is Correspondence Chess not taken seriously on Lichess?

I see that there is no leaderboard for Correspondence Chess. There is a leaderboard for every other chess variant except for Correspondence chess.

Also, most people on Lichess don't play Correspondence as far as I observe (myself included). However, I would like to play some correspondence here in the coming days.

I would appreciate it if I could see a leaderboard for Correspondence chess. I want to see an increase in popularity for Correspondence chess.
Unfortunately they don't have a correspondence leaderboard due to the high potential for engine abuse as stated here www.reddit.com/r/chess/comments/3zfrhq/on_lichess_why_people_doesnt_seem_to_be/. They could either allow it like ICCF or not rank it. It isn't impossible to detect, but they would want to be more certain. As for rated variant correspondence, I recently found out the answer here. lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/why-cant-a-get-a-rated-960-correspondence-game#4
Who cares about leaderboards? lol If u want to play it, just find an opponent and play it. Leaderboard won't increase a popularity of this type of game, simply, because it is time consuming and more oftenly it will be electrical energy consuming running your engine 24/7, which would be actually huge energy waste and... overheating of the planet... Do you want penguins to lose their homes? :) Can speak for myself, I am not interested in Correspondence, because I don't like the idea, that most of the job is done by engine, human just needs to choose variations. In old days it would have been really exciting, but today, no thanks.
@TrainingOTB Hey. I'm an engine that runs 24/7. I run on bio-diesel, so I could use those dead penguins for chess analysis. In all seriousness, while it is obvious that engine use is more common in correspondence, it just isn't the norm. Most people just want to play a longer game. Giving someone the opportunity to cheat doesn't mean they will always do it. It's a sad few ruining it for the rest. Also, it's just as easy to cheat in any other time control. Sure it is a little harder to detect in correspondence, but not impossible in most cases if they establish a pattern.

To prove my point about it being just as easy in other time controls, a checkmate against SF level 8 in 1+0 with 20 seconds to spare after 84 moves. lichess.org/1WIAQhrQyA2j I'm no cheater, but I don't see any reason why they couldn't do the same (or better by making it more subtle) against humans. They're a parasite, but we adapt and overcome.
Maybe Short is right when calling it „obsolete“ nowadays?

Think most people see it that way as well.
Hello! I'm pretty good playing chess, started the account @gekterho3. The first game played at night, tired, the rating was low - 1200 even dropped. Then I'm in the best shape in a short time all moviesreal, the rating was 1550. For some reason I was banned, but in General the profile has been deleted!!! Can't you play good chess on lichess???
@gekterho2 No one wants to discuss with cheaters and their multiple accounts. Moreover, this is highly off-topic here. So would you mind pissing off?
I'm not a cheater!!! Gekterho player is my father. He played 5407 games, it was banned! Account gekterho2 I started relatively recently, he was banned on suspicion of cheating, just because I was asked if I cheater. I started a gekterho3 account to start from scratch. How can I prove I'm not a cheater? online party with a web camera on Skype? or do I not have an account with the name gekterho? It's a shame, you play absolutely honestly and remove profile!
No one cares if you are a cheater or not, make your own thread @gekterho - that's off topic for this one, which is the frustration with you in this thread. If you have issues with Lichess thinking you're a cheater, take it up with them, not all of us.

I personally don't trust folks to play without cheating in correspondence chess, especially since engine use/opening explorer/opening books can be used for the opening. I want to play real humans, every single move, but also have time to make quality moves without real time pressure.

Even in the classical time controls on here, 1 out of the 14 games I played was played with someone cheating. I imagine the cheating temptation is greater for folks the longer the time control.

The pros and cons of online chess are that you have the convenience to sit and play without an entry fee but also aren't sure who or what is playing on the other side of the board.
