Why everyone playing bad on classical?

The "blitz mind" is real. I once played a 15+10 game where my opponent basically was playing in blitz mode, at the end he still had 10 minutes on his clock. The entire time he was complaining in the chat that I was "taking forever to move". It was pretty hilarious. I was taking my time, making quality moves and he was blitzing out his. I played the higher quality moves and won the game.

The cynical part of me thinks certain people choose the higher time controls with the mentality of wanting a blitz game, i.e. both players playing fast, but with the luxury to be able to take some time on a move at his convenience without having to wait for his opponent to think too much. Pretty sad...
Yea nowadays kids play only bullet or fast time modes and as expected dumb memory moves ar far from real tactics whats chess about.
1st) It is *not* true for all of my classical games, that I play them too fast. Sometimes I'm even in zeitnot at the end.

2nd) It *is* true for some of my games, that I am not able to come into the right mindset for a slow, highly focused, game. I don't know the exact reasons. Tiredness, lazyness, distraction may all play a role. Additionally, I sometimes have the problem to manage the switch between the first fast moves, where I (believe to) know the lines, and the hard part, when I'm "out of book" (out of notepad in my case)
I like classical chess but i mainly play it on otb. The reason is that in high level classical chess in online there are just too many cheaters..and in bullet and blitz there are much more less.
my last 3 classical games 90 + 0 i have won in less than 10 moves all my opponents play fast and blunder a piece right in the opening. Shocking and they have all the time in the world to assess the position.
