Why can't I resign?

I play a game. I get a lost position. I resign. But my clock continues ticking until I lose on time and gets warned.
HOW DO I RESIGN PROPERLY?

It took me a while to figure out i need to double-click the resign icon.

It seems like everyone I play has that problem.

Is maybe the option/setting "Confirm resignation and draw offers" in the section "Game behavior" of your preferences what you are looking for?
