Why and how did you learn chess?

I didnt have nothing else to do and just started playing to entertain myself, ended up getting addicted and almost everything I learned it here, on lichess, mostly just from experience
Chess is played in our home and neighborhood so I learned to play it. At first I played awkward as moost players didn't know the standard rules like en passant, pawn promotion. I learn to play correctly and better after reading Chess Fundamentals.
My grandfather taught me to play chess.

I learnt it,.........for no specific reason.
Honestly I don't remember why I learnt it but I guess it was mostly to play with my Grandpa, brother and mom.
I started in the summer when I was bored and at that time I was playing on chess.com but don't be mad at me and then soon I heard about lichess.org and I thought I would check it out but at first I didn't really play much on here but then soon I started playing here and not playing on chess.com because on Halloween chess.com started showing this ad that I didn't like at all so I started playing on lichess.org and I got an adblocker
In my school everyone teased me that you do not even know how place the pieces. I started to learn chess then.
Friend of the family taught me the moves when I was five. Don't remember having a reason for learning.
My dad taught me when I was 9. He said he would give me 5 bucks the first time I beat him, and eventually I did, and then I used the money to buy a Timex watch that I'd had my eye on.

Then as it turned out it made my skin break out so I couldn't wear it. :(
I learnt chess from my uncle when i was 6, since I had nothing else to do, I learnt it. But I had no interest in it for like 5 years. Then last year, I decided that I wanted to defeat one of my classmates who goes to chess coaching. I didn't manage to do it for a long time. But then I got more interested in chess and wanted to study chess. So, instead of going for coaching, I decided to learn from YouTube. Within a few months I was rated around 1600 in chess. I accomplished my mission of defeating my classmate, though 😀. And now, aged 12, I'm rated aroung 1980-2000 zone. So that's my story of how I got interested in chess.
