Who Taught You How To Play Chess?

my cousin taught me when I was very young, maybe 3-4 year old
another cousin, and my dad, when i was in primary school plus computer game battle chess
an indonesian women national master when I was in junior high school plus a chess book in the library
the rest is youtube and other players

I learned it from my grandpa when i was a child. Never played again else for ten years though.
A few month ago i rediscovered it and started online chess.

Some years ago I played in a club for a few sessions but only to impress the girl who invited me (which actually worked).
I think my mom taught me when I was 5. When I was 7 my dad made his own version of chess... basically he made an even bigger board and created more pieces that could move different ways. It was awesome, and I really liked it as a kid. I would love to be able to play that version again
by reading instructions on how to play in an Uncle Scrooge Almanac in 90's. For years played just I and my brother... You know, chess is not so common in Brazil, especially in the 90's.
My parents learned me when i was 4/5 years old. One of my first memories is getting scolard by an uncle and getting really pissed. Lost interest pretty fast and never played much for more than 20 years.
I learned chess in old school. I learned a few jokes from ben finegold, he learned them in old school.
played a lot with my grandfather when i was 6 or 7. Didn't play for 12 years after that :/
When I was about 7, my mom's friend told me what the game was and told me to get a (really bad) app on my mom's phone that would teach me the rules. I couldn't understand how the pieces moved for some reason and ended up watching some YouTube videos to learn how to move the pieces. I played for a few months but quickly lost interest. About 5 years later I heard some people were playing chess in my local library. I went, and suddenly I was coordinating pieces decently. I became hooked on competitive chess ever since.
