What to do when you don't know what to do in a puzzle?

The way you should go depends on the goal to reach. :-)
If you want strengthening your intuition to be able to "see" the solution next time (e. g. in blitz, but also in calculation process), then just skip this puzzle either by viewing the solution or making a nice candidate move. In the given case, working on as many puzzles as possible helps you the most, esp. if you reflect your thinking process.
If you want to train your calculation skill then take it a great opportunity and think deeper and deeper again and again - just train your brain for half up to one hour, if you dont solve it then adjourn this puzzle, e. g. by making a screenshot.
If you solve for fun - you know best what pleases you most. (-;

Then he looks at the answer! :D
