I cheated in classical games and got punished very hardly for this mystake. Now I regret it. Cheaters are not allowed to play in tournaments and are not even able to play against humans! I find it awful as you can only cheat in classical (and maybe rapid?).
I wonder what you guys think of cheaters (are they trash, losers or simply misunderstood?) and how should lichess deal with it.

Basically, I think Lichess does the right punishment. I don't know why you consider it "very hard". No fine, no prison, no physical pain ...
I think Lichess punishes a little to hard as they completely block the account for ever. I think lichess should only ban people for a few weeks or months and nothing more.

@Dillon-S No its not too hard. Once a cheater always a cheater, if you block him for weeks or months he just continues cheating
Well... It seems that you needed to be punished really hard to regret it.
But it isn't as unfair as you might think. You are not allowed to play in tournament because tournament are meant to be fair played. Seems pretty fair, no ?
Your are able to play other humans though. But only with your other fellow cheaters. You don't like it ? How do you think your legit opponent liked the game you cheated on them ?
how do you know if you are only paired with cheaters ? my oponnents are often playing like the world champ but in the end they do some silly mistake to not get in under the cheat radar its annoying cuase i wil get the loose anyway and they get not reported
@braunegefahr , not true. Punishment should not be forever. It should a certain period only. In olympic, drug users ( cheaters) are banned for 2-5 years. Even if you did a crime, you are not in the prison forever for majority of cases.
In OP cases, I mean " 6 months to 1 year" ban is fair enough.
