Strategy Talk

Anything related to chess strategies. You can talk about yours if you have one, search if any, talk about it, stuff like that.
A strategy I've seen from several players: sac a piece, give a few checks, resign.

A strategy from the old masters, especially in the endgame: move around aimlessly and hope the opponent makes a mistake.

When in doubt, push the h-pawn.
If I am stuck for a good move I often just quickly make an 'I don't know' move - something that looks like it's the start of a cunning combination but is really a stop-gap while trying to create a plan.
My “strategy” in hopeless positions as taught to me by Sargon, these are his favorite strategies:

1- play quickly, trying to flag the other guy
2- never resign, maybe he will blunder or lose connection
3- throw in a pawn advance/breakthrough in the endgame, often people pre-move and miss passed pawns
4- get really fast by playing bullet, this will help you flag people in blitz, generally blitz players are really slow compared to bullet players
My strategy mostly is to keep as many pieces as possible. I do understand that you would have to give up some pieces, but mainly for me I just do it so I can have as much control as I can.
I try not to blunder, then I try not to lose on time, then I blunder. :)

#2 too, oh yes!
Personally, I want to keep as many pieces as possible, mainly for control, but also to protect the king. Oftentimes when a checkmate happens it's because I personally didn't think that it could be a checkmate. I do feel like keeping pieces together next to the king will help me last a little bit longer.
What I do.

1. Develop.
2. Find good squares for my pieces.
3. Win a pawn.
4. Trade pieces.
5. Win the king endgame.
The secret to strong chess is, find people who never heard about chess, slow with computer and bring them to lichess. Start a tournament with those and beat them mercilessly one by one. A great general plans before the battle.
