Should I allow takebacks?

@LogicallyCompromised

Absolutely not.
The feature is a useful tool for coaches/students.

It can be disabled in settings, making the point mute.
Players are not bothered with any interruptions once the feature is disabled.

What does need changing is the +time. It also needs to be disabled in settings. Players freely able to add time WITHOUT the opponents agreement is 100% absurd.

No, I do not mean the situation where you are on the receiving end. What I mean is that if you always grant takebacks yourself per default (at least the first one asked for), you have much less reason to invest time into calculating sharp, complicated lines (because you consciously deny yourself the reward if your opponent breaks under the pressure and slips up, thus the investment will be less worth it). This certainly does not help your long-term skill progression.

If you just want to see a "good game" without any desire to win it yourself, I recommend replaying some grandmaster games.
