Carlsen lost two games and people are acting like his rating and skill level dropped to 1200.

Maggie is in a forlorn free fall and obviously beyond redemption. His forehead now reads "No Hoper Ex WC"
However only certain special conceited jokers can see and read the forehead label "No Hoper Ex WC" that is clearly EVIDENT to me in recent videos. This is the strongest of evidence.

It is pretty easy to see that Magnus has been trying out some more risky lines. I'd much rather see players TRY new lines and take risks than just simply draw entire tournaments.

Good point! Magnus is very good at self-knowledge of his style and has insightful knowledge of other chess players. He summed up Caruana's play really well in like 5-10 clear concise sentences. On a podcast, Caruana mentioned this summary of him as a chess player was very impressive.
On some broadcast, someone (?Magnus) said that Carlsen could not play like Kasparov with his focus on activity and initiative in tactical positions as he was more comfortable in positions with a stronger positional basis.
Carlsen may be trying to expand / stretch himself and this can be painful. If Carlsen could even approach Kasparov's play in dynamic positions - that could get him to 2900. Kasparov often traded positional factors for activity / initiative but strived to stay within reasonable limits.

I agree -- he only scored 4/5 in the games after his two consecutive losses. I expected much MORE from him - after all he is only in 3rd place! He is just showing off! Nice comeback.
