The Lichess 45|45 Team Tournament is an 8 round team tournament with 8 boards per team ranging from a rating of ~1100-2500. Players play 1 long time control game per week (45 minutes initial time plus 45 second increment per move).

Season 19 starts on Monday 4th November 2019. Teams will be released 1 week prior to the start of the season and earlier registrations are favoured for team formation. The latest registrants before team formation will start as alternate/reserve players (~15% of players).

All communication is done through Slack, please register when you receive an invite and link it to your Lichess account. You must have an account on Lichess which has a non-provisional classical rating.

If you want to see if you like classical chess, feel free to join our fourth anniversary tournament this Saturday lichess.org/tournament/Vv1WL7lS
I can recommend it. And I am a totally unbiased, totally neutral observer. You can trust me.
Hi,

At what time the games are played? I live in Montreal so how does it works since we have players all around the world!
Every round, you try to schedule the game with your opponent directly. Most times it is possible to work something out; in those cases when it is not, it's a scheduling draw.

Edit: You can check out game times here: www.lichess4545.com/team4545/season/18/pairings/
Edit 2: Game times there are UTC, but if you hover over them, it should give your local time.
Thank you for the info.

From the FAQ ! : There really isn't anything quite like cheering on your team-mate as he plays the deciding match of the round, only to stare in horror at your screen as he plays a dubious Rook sac.
Would be interesting and will attract top players if TC is 1/0 bullet or 3/0 blitz( almost all top players play at that TC)
Absolutely. Spectating and expressing your horror at the decisions of your teammates is half the fun of the league. If you check out a couple of the games from last season you will notice that spectator chat can be quite active. And horrified. :D
@drmrboss
It's a league dedicated to slow time controls. Our main goal is not to attract top players (but we are happy if we do), our goal is to help all players to get serious games with enough thinking time. If you want to play 1/0 or 3/0 it's easy to get games. But try waiting for a 45/45 game in the pool.

Most titled players recommend slow games to improve. E.g. here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgMN2dka23s&t=154s our league gets an explicit shout-out for that.
Hi! How many classic games one needs to get out the provisional classic rating question mark?... "?"
