Premoving is legitimized cheating.

Premoving allows the absurdity of a player taking ZERO seconds for ten moves. If you can't do it over the board face-to-face it should not be allowed online. All sites allow premoving which makes a mockery of the very idea of a clock. I detest premove and I'll always lobby against it.
Nope. Premoves are a huge risk, as if you opponent doesn't make the move you expect, you can lose. And it is valuable in bullet. @Eleuthero
"If you can't do it over-the-board face-to-face it should not be allowed online" this simply makes no sense. Many things about online chess are different from over-the-board. I think there is nothing wrong with premoves, no reason you should lose time when you don't have to. You can disable premoves in settings if you like, and play with increment so you won't get flagged by people who use premoves.
Premoving is an integral part of online chess. In OTB you get a read on the opponent's play as they execute the move before punching the clock. Premove compensates for that.
@GrandLapin

It may be an "integral part of online chess" but my view is that the clock is there for a reason and it's been the same "reason" every since chess clocks have been invented. The idea that a gimmick should essentially nullify the clock is abhorrent to me. It's a GAME and I'm just not that set on my rating "points" that I want or need an artificiality to decide the game.

I feel that technological advantages are stupid. Chess used to be about the moves, and only the moves, and nothing but the movies. Using your "rights" to essentially turn off the clock is unbelievably artificial. My opponents can do whatever they want but I will never waver from my stance. Chess is about MOVES. Those who make it about something else are literally robbing the game of its original goal. The goal is simple. Checkmate or flag. Nothing should turn off that clock. Nothing.

Maybe we can make premoves visible to the opponent so that they can punish the premoves. :)
If you talk about what you can't do in otb chess, remember the touch move rule for one.
