because there's no purpose to having 20 different types of "rapid" chess. 5+5 5+8 10+0. which are all shorter. they needed to put a longer rapid time control and 15+10 was the most popular. just because 30+0 is less popular then 3+3 doesn't mean we need to replace it. Clearly we need a fast classical, and a slow classical. a fast rapid and slow, a fast blitz and slow ( and since blitz is extra popular an additional medium. and a fast and slow bullet
