Losing although opponent has just king & bishop?

Why am i losing a game while my opponent has insufficient material to mate me?
if it was king bishop vs king is would be a draw. however you have a lot of pawns and if you do incredible stupid moves i think you can still lose. that is very unfair though in my opinion... hope my comment has helpful! ;) #vaieder
Thanks for the answers! :)
As long as a mating position can be constructed(!) it is not a draw(fide rules).
But i read that under USCF rules it would be a draw because checkmate cannot be forced.(?)
lichess seems to follow fide rules.
