I have never seen checkers being called draughts. Even though checkers is American English while draughts is British English, and I'm European.

Honestly though - ugly name. Doesn't sound English at all. How do you even pronounce that word?
@OzyWho

It is the British spelling of the word spelled "draft" in American English. So that is how it is pronounced. I know this because draft beer is called draught beer there.
@Hangrad : Are you a developper of the website ? To popularize it maybe an idea is to add the second version of draught, the english version, which has a board of 64 squares. I think he is played a lot.
