I have never seen checkers being called draughts. Even though checkers is American English while draughts is British English, and I'm European.

It is the British spelling of the word spelled "draft" in American English. So that is how it is pronounced. I know this because draft beer is called draught beer there.

@Hangrad : Are you a developper of the website ? To popularize it maybe an idea is to add the second version of draught, the english version, which has a board of 64 squares. I think he is played a lot.
