Letting Time Run Out

@pn2206 I agree and have the same situation. What I recommend is telling the person in chat that you are going to have a long think so that they do not suspect that you left the game and can think in peace without them asking if you are still there :)
I was once accused of that when my computer froze!!!!!
@Yoyboi Damn yeah internet connectivity and computer problems is an issue but this
is an online game after all.
The described behaviour was indeed a problem. But I cannot confirm, that it still is. There have been some code changes a few months ago, and my impression is that the problem is solved as good as it can be. Recognition of this kind of bad behaviour appears to be solid and the punishments effective.

I'm astonished that @HungryRaven has had already many of these opponents with his 9 rated games. Or is it in unrated games? Then I suggest to play only rated games.
@sheckley666 Whether it is rated or non rated games, I believe this kind of behaviour should not occur
in either case. I have experienced this behaviour in my previous account as well (shreyas0402) which now had to be closed due to the rapid decline in rating as a result of these players. In my opinion, the problem hasn't been fixed as in a casual game like two days ago, I had to wait a whole 30 minutes for the person to eventually give up but neither did he move or resign. Eventually, I was the one who had to resign.

Finally, I think whether it is rated or non rated a loss is a loss.
Which I feel is not fair and any other player doesn't deserve to lose because of this either.
Resigning is actually a not too brilliant idea. Not only that your own rating suffers, but the bad guy is rewarded and encouraged to repeat his unsporting behaviour. I don't understand why you *have to* resign. If he played on, you also would have to spend the same time.

I don't like your suggestion. I don't want my opponent to be able to abort a game against me only because I need a longer think. And I also don't want to have to beg him in the chat for allowing me a longer think. (Besides that he does not necessarily speak my languages. And that I have the chat normally switched off, and he maybe, too)
I think it will be great.. If there's a move notifier in stander time conrols
Like loud sound
Vibration and so on
@sheckley666 Firstly, I don't encourage people to resign if they face this situation.
It is the only option left if their opponent decides to keep them waiting for 50 minutes or even an hour.
That is why this forum post was created to look for a solution to this problem so please refer to the comments placed
in the previous page of this discussion.

Coming to my suggestion, I have only suggested that the abort option or an automatic draw should be achieved
only if the person has not moved for over 20 minutes as said in my previous comment. I would like to emphasise to you
that in no occasion will you be required to "beg" in the chat.

Also, I don't think anyone would require more than 20 minutes for just one move in classical.
This 20-minute rule only would apply to classical and other modes would have their own suitable timeframe.
